If all you want is for your conversations to stay yours, this is the whole product. It installs like any other messenger, and your identity is a cryptographic key generated on your device rather than a row in someone’s database. Nothing about it assumes you are being targeted — it just doesn’t collect what it doesn’t need.

Essential is for people who want a de-Googled, hardened Android but still need maps, contactless payment, and the apps daily life runs on. Arpokrat Messenger and TorVPN are built in, exactly as they are on ArpokratOS Hardened.

ArpokratOS Hardened, and who actually needs it.

The hardened tier exists for a narrower case: people whose work makes their phone a target.

ArpokratOS Hardened is the maximum-isolation tier — GPS, Bluetooth, and NFC disabled at the kernel, a duress PIN, and Arpokrat Messenger and system-wide Tor built in. The four profiles below are where that trade-off tends to be worth making.

Secure Phone for Journalists and Whistleblowers

Protecting a source means protecting the device that talks to them. In hostile environments, a compromised phone can expose more than a story.

ArpokratOS Hardened prioritizes isolation over integration. If you need the Google Play ecosystem, mainstream social apps, or cloud backups, ArpokratOS Essential — or a different device entirely — may serve you better. Hardened exists for the specific, narrow case where that trade-off is worth making.
